National Camp Program

Creating real and lasting change

A place where people with TS can be themselves.

Tourette Syndrome camps are family camps. The camp fosters inclusion and delivers activities that create a real and lasting change for individuals affected by TS and their families. Tourette Camps are FUN, ACTIVE, INSPIRATIONAL and jam packed, full of acceptance, encouragement, support and genuinely enjoyable activities.

Who can attend TS camp?

We often hear, “oh I didn’t think I could come to camp because I am an adult with TS”.  Please don’t think that because you are an adult you can’t come along. Camps are a family style camp and open to all members young and not so young! Accommodation is in family rooms and by default, singles get a room to themselves. We do have the option of singles sharing rooms should they have friends that they would like to bunk in with. If you would like to take up the option of a singles shared room please let us know when you book.

How can I attend camp?

You must be a TSAA member to attend our camp program.  Upcoming camps and registration dates are shown below.  We will notify members when registrations open via email and our newsletter.

Why come to camp?

There are a number of reasons why camps are great for adults, teens and children with TS and their families.

Support and Understanding: TS Camps provide a supportive environment where individuals can connect with others who have similar experiences, fostering a sense of understanding, acceptance, and belonging.

Education and Skill Building: Camps offer discussions that provide information about Tourette Syndrome, its symptoms, management strategies, and available resources. Participants can learn coping techniques, behavioural strategies, and practical skills to better manage their tics and associated challenges. Workshops and presentations conducted by individuals with lived experiences and others in the community can offer valuable insights.

Peer Support: Interacting with peers who share similar experiences can be empowering and comforting. TS Camps provide opportunities for individuals to connect, share stories, and build lasting friendships. Being part of a community that understands and supports each other can have a significant positive impact on self-esteem and mental well-being.

Fun and Recreational Activities: Camps offer a range of recreational activities, such as sports, arts and crafts, team-building exercises, and adventure-based activities. Engaging in these activities can help participants develop confidence, improve social skills, and foster a sense of achievement. It also provides a platform for individuals to explore their interests and abilities beyond their diagnosis.
