    Volunteer Registrations Close 2 weeks prior to any camp

    Tourette Syndrome (TS) camps are family camps. The camp fosters inclusion and delivers activities that create a real and lasting change for individuals touched by TS and their families. Tourette Camps are FUN, ACTIVE, INSPIRATIONAL and jam packed full of acceptance, encouragement, support and genuinely enjoyable activities such as: Instructor-led Indoor and Outdoor Recreation Activities, Swimming, Discos, Craft, Games, and Much, Much, More!! It gives everyone the opportunity to socialise with their peers and form meaningful, lasting friendships.

    BOOKING INFORMATION

    You will be asked to complete this form if you are a volunteer for any states camp.  Volunteers are required to complete training and hold a current Working with Childrens Check/Vulnerable Persons for their state.  Once you have been approved you will be given a code to complete your form.  You will only be required to fill out this form once per calendar year regardless of the number of camps you volunteer for in 2024.

    The Sydney Disability Connection Expo 2024, sponsored by Easy Healthcare is to be held at The Brisbane Convention and Exhibition on Friday 1st and Saturday 2nd March.  The expo runs from 10a.m. - 4p.m. each day.

    From the organisers:

    "This event has been shaped and delivered by people living with disability, for people living with disability. Best of all, it’s FREE to attend.
    With the NDIS Review and Royal Commission shaping how disability services are delivered in Australia, come and find out more and get support navigating a changing system.
    We have an action-packed two days for you. There’s so much to see and do, we’d recommend coming for the full day, or both days.  Here are just some of the things on offer;
    • A NDIS Information Hub, where you can ask a team of experts any NDIS questions and get real-time answers
    • Interactive performance every 30mins, thanks to our Main Entertainment sponsor @Velocity Support Service. Plus we have another 4 entertainment areas.
    • Quiet time between 10am - 10:45am, and our hour of power party time to finish each day from 3-4pm. We have lots of chill our areas and there plenty of spaces at the venue for noise breaks
    • Loads of chill out and recharge zones so you can take your time and have a rest when you need to

    With over 200 exhibitors covering every NDIS topic available, this is going to be THE event of the year, you won’t want to miss it."

    TSAA will have an information stand at the event both days.  We are looking for enthusiastic people within our community to assist by:

    • Setting up/Packing up
    • Talking to service providers and the general public who visit the stand about Tourette Syndrome and the impact it has on peoples lives.
    • Raising awareness of the TSAA and how we support individuals and their families living with Tourette Syndrome.

    You don't need to be an expert you just need to be welcoming, warm, enthusiastic and have a sense of fun!  Does this sound like something you could help us with?     This year Tourette Syndrome Awareness Week in Australia has been moved to coincide with International Tourette Syndrome Awareness Day (June 7th)

    Do you know a workplace, business or educational facility that consistently goes above and beyond to support you or your loved one with TS?  Do they openly display:

    Awareness
    Empathy
    Acceptance
    Understanding?

    If so, they may be eligible for a TSAA 'Tic' of Approval

It gives everyone the opportunity to socialise with their peers and form meaningful, lasting friendships.

    El Shaddai Camping Centre
    El Shaddai Rd, Stanwell Wellington SA 5259

    Fri 26th July 2024 7p.m. - Sun 28th July 2024 1:00pm

    2024 sees a return to El Shaddai Camping Centre for our SA camp.  The camp site is picturesque and features all of the favourite activities including a GaGa pit.  Currently we can only access the camp at 7p.m. on the Friday evening so be sure to eat before you arrive, but please be sure to keep watching for any changes as we are trying our best to get in by 5p.m.!

    BOOKING INFORMATION AND PRICING
    All bookings require a non-refundable fee of $ 120.00 per person aged 14+ and $80 for children aged 13 and Under (Children under 3 are free)
    One camp is subsidised per member/per year.

     NDIS 

    If you are self managed please complete the form by selecting NDIS ticket and arrange your payment through NDIA.  If you are fund managed please email or ask your plan manager to contact info@tourette.org.au to request an invoice. We will then send you a pin code to finalise your registration.  

    If you are bringing a Support Worker, please email info@tourette.org.au to arrange a pin code for registration (both Self and Plan/Fund managed).

    TRAVEL SUBSIDY
    To support families through financially uncertain times and those experiencing financial hardship, travel subsidies are available for all camps in 2024 subject to approval by committee. If you are experiencing hardship and would like to apply for travel subsidy please email: info@tourette.org.au

    Located an hour south of Sydney’s CBD The Tops Conference Centre is set on 50 acres of prime bushland in Stanwell Tops and is a great location for TSAA camps. Plenty of fun activities and a picturesque outlook.

    Point Walter is located at 1 Stock Rd, Bicton overlooking the Swan River and the Point Walter Reserve, located approximately 12km south of Perth and 7km north-east of Fremantle.  It is set amongst well maintained grounds, with accommodation that is modern and functional.

    Camp Clayton

    41 Clayton Rd, Ulverstone Tas 7315

    Camp Clayton is beautifully situated on a beachside, country property in Ulverstone.  The campsite is less than 90 minutes from Launceston and 3.5 hours from Hobart.  They have a great range of onsite activities and delicious meals.

We are committed to providing services and activities that are safe for all children, where child abuse and harm are not tolerated. Child safety is a priority for the TSAA and the prevention and reporting of abuse is supported and encouraged. All staff, volunteers and contractors are responsible for promoting the safety, wellbeing and empowerment of children. All children who seek support from the TSAA have a right to feel and be safe. The TSAA recognises that discrimination can harm children and we treat all children with dignity and respect.  You can confirm that someone is a TSAA volunteer by asking to see their membership card, which will display their volunteer status.
